What is Backstory Coffee Roasters?
Backstory Coffee Roasters is a coffee shop that has been roasting in St. Paul since 2014. It recently opened a location in the North Loop of Minneapolis, on the ground floor of The Duffey apartment complex in the fall of 2022. The shop occupies space within the building's main lobby and is open to the public. Backstory is a rebranding of what was formerly known as Bootstrap Coffee Roasters, since its beginning nearly ten years ago, the small coffee roaster has grown and matured into something much greater than what was originally planned, hence the need for an updated identity. The shop emphasizes on collaboration and storytelling and aims to create deep connections with not only coffee itself, but those who grow it. The menu at Backstory's Minneapolis location features classic espresso beverages, cold brew, pour-overs, specialty beverages and more, as well as food items such as grab-and-go items, hot sandwiches, and pastries.
